Oregano Wild Italian 200 Seeds

Origanum vulgare

Small leaved plant with bushy habit. Spicy flavour, somewhere between annual marjoram and thyme. Essential ingredient in pizzas and pastas. Flowers in shades of lilac to purple. Parts used: young leaves and leaf tops. Height 40-60cm.

Perennial growing to up to 60cm high. Cut the stems back to the ground to encourage new growth.

For best flavour harvest in the morning just after the dew has lifted.

Culinary hints - cooking and eating Oregano

Used to flavour tomato dishes, soups, sauces and Greek dishes like moussaka.
