Eggplant - Easter Egg White/Golden

20 Seeds Minimum

This is the Ovigerum, an ornamental Eggplant, and the fruit it produces looks just like real eggs. These miniature eggplants are approximately the size of a large chicken egg. When they first come on they're white, just like an egg. And as they mature they turn different shades of yellow. So it really does look like you have a colorful Easter Egg tree growing in your garden!

The Easter Egg Plant grows well outdoors in your garden and they also do very well standing alone in containers.

Because they're just like other eggplants you'll have Easter Eggs the very first year and if you save one or two you can harvest the seeds for planting again next year.

Zucchini - Black Beauty

20 Seeds Minimum

Classic Zucchini, large fruits, high yield, great tasting. Expect a germination rate of 90% or more.

Beetroot - Detroit Red

50 Seeds Minimum

Detroit Red is a deep red colour, globed shaped, approx. 6-8cm in size. Popular for the home garden.

Soak seeds in water 24 hours before planting so that you can separate the seeds. Thinning is nearly always required as seedlings emerge from a seedball of several seeds. If you don't thin them, you will get a number of rather pathetic plants which don't grow to an edible size. Harvest in 55 - 70 days but will keep in ground for longer.

Pumpkin - Waltham Butternut

10 Seeds Minimum

Most popular butternut, more uniform shape and size. Good interior texture and colour, 20-30 x 8-12cm, weighing 1-2 Kg. Smooth light tan skin, thicker cylindrical necks. Small seed cavity. Rich dry yellowish orange flesh. Nutty flavour, vigorous vines, higher yields, stores great.

Cucumber - Lebanese

20 Seeds Minimum

Middle Eastern type with very smooth skin and tapered ends. Short vines with tender and sweet flesh without a lot of seeds. Excellent for slicing or sliced pickles. The smooth tender skin doesn't need to be peeled unlike other types of cucumber.

Cucumbers can be started in small peat pots then transplanted when weather is suitable. A trailing plant which will grow tendrils as it gets bigger. Lebanese cucumbers are best picked about 10 -12 cm (4 - 5 in) and eat whole

Spinach - New Zealand Perennial

100 Seeds Minimum

Perennial Spinach. The plant has a bush like posture and is very large and spreading. Leaves are small, thick, triangular and dark green. It is suitable for home gardens. It is recommended for adverse conditions as it is very resistant to heat and drought.

Broccoli - Rapini

100 Seeds Minimum

Plant early in spring, harvest before hot weather. No central head but many strap-leaves and side-shoots. Looks like mustard with many 1.6cm green buds. Early European branching variety for tops and tender flower shoots, will not winter over.
